farmers markets around Seattle--a report | Jun 25, 2002 02:38 PM

I'm addicted to farmers markets. No, really. I go to one every weekend, be it University District, West Seattle, Ballard....

So a few weeks ago I decided to go to Woodinville and Issaquah as they have farmers markets on the same day---I figured two birds, one stone...And boy was I disappointed! Woodinville's only had one farmer, and this in an area surrounded by wineries and farm land. Issaquah's was better, but they don't even come close to the University District in variety and quality of produce and other foods.
One unexpected thing---the farmers market in Olympia was wonderful! I was there last year visiting friends and was thrilled to see the vast variety of goods. It would be worth making the drive just for the market.

So....please tell me where other destination farmers markets are. I can't think of a better way to spend a sunday than taking a drive to a small town and shopping the farm tables....
