other than the 45 min wait for our 8 pm table for 4 (told that was unusual but I'm guessing 15-20 min wait for a reservation is not atypical), I give a complete 4 or 5 thumbs up to this well-deserved popular spot in Potrero. And the owner did everything he could to make amends for our wait.....
food was incredible, most every dish a standout: don't miss foie gras torchon, grilled lamb chops (2 for $10 or so - the most amazing salt crusted rosemary crust) with ratatouille, beet, feta and mache salad, fantastic pear tatin and more. we stuck mainly to small plates but this place accomodates any sort of dining experience, from the traditional appetizer/entree per person to tons of shared small plates.
service is polished, casual and fun all at the same time. wine list is thoughtful and well priced. proper dessert wine glasses are appreciated but you are having so much fun at that point, it's a plus vs. a necessity....and you start to understand why people linger
so go with a 9 pm reservation!
