Just wanted to write a small review of my lunch at Chef'd Ricks in Santa Maria. Cited on this board as one of the best eating spots between SB and SF,it is a superb place to eat. Lunch is walk in, but reservations are needed for dinner.
Walked in at about 1:00 PM on a Tuesday, the place was more than half full but with a few tables available.
The place itself is tiny with about 12 tables with seating for four inside and two(3?) tables outside.The restaurant is in a strip mall with a Ralph's supermarket next door.
I ordered off the lunch menu. The selection was good with about 6-7 specials. I ordered the shrimp/scallop burrito and sat back to await my order with an iced tea. First,they start you off with a selction of small rolls that are to die for.The jalapeno cheese rolls are my favorite,with the yeast rolls coming in a close second.After about 20 minutes, my order finally came. It was a large burrito shaped puff pastry shell filled with cheese,large scallops and large shrimp. It was fabulous, being way too much for me. Along with the order came a side order of salad with a sweet salad dressing and sesame seeds. Very good! I ate as much of the burrito as I could, then gave up and had it boxed up. Not cheap,the burrito was $13.95 and altogetyher the bill was $24 with tip.
