Last night three of us had perfect burgers. The taste of quality beef was in every bite. The patty was ½ pound and cooked until a slight crust formed on each side. I had a Cheese Burger plain. I am glad I ordered it plain because anything else would have detracted from the good taste of the meat. That was how good burgers were sold many years ago until times changed and adding a salad in the bun was needed in order to add some taste. We also ordered the Poutine Fries (Mess) discussed on this board several times already and a order of onion rings. These were the best onion rings I have had in L.A. Very large, perfect batter cooked to a golden color and no grease. I asked Carlos (the chef) how he made the onion rings so perfect. He said the oil must be just the right temperature so they cook quicky yet do not burn and at the right temp the oil will run off once removed from the deep fry. Sounds easy but I have not found any other rings that good in L.A. and I have been looking for months (my onion ring list is very extensive). This Burger, onion rings, and Poutine Fries are a must have. The price is very reasonable and at this price I would say this is the best burger deal in Los Angeles. Oh ya. The people next to our table were discussing Chowhound.com. The table server asked if they had already been there yesterday morning for breakfast and they admitted that it was them and they came back to try dinner. I can understand that. The breakfast menu is small but the stuff they offer is very good.
