Went to Cheebo last night, based on several Houndly recs..
The restaurant is on a relatively deserted corner of Sunset, between Fairfax and La Brea. However, it was packed all night. They run a busy take-out business as well.
We had the slow roasted pork sandwich, and mussels and fries.
The slow roasted pork and Manchego sandwich (around $9) was terrific. It's pressed, Cuban style. Ask for hot sauce on the side. I ordered a side of very bright, steamed kale ($4.50), which was very mild but good.
The mussels and fries were ok, not great. Small portion, no side dishes.
We had mocha cheesecake for dessert. The cheesecake was ok - but way too heavy for my taste (it felt like a brick).
The restaurant itself is really beautiful inside: all warm colors, and high ceilings. The wait staff were very attentive and helpful.
Bill for 3, including beer, 1 dessert, and coffee: 65 dollars.
