Had a very pleasent meal at Chapeau in the Richmond with my wife and in laws. I had almost forgotten what a gem this place is.
Food is very good and occasionally quite memorable. Service is outstanding and the owners go out of the way to make all feel welcome. Also, the three course menu for $29 it represents a very good value. Low mark-up, carefully thought out wine list. Very pretty inside, though its quite small a bit of a "boite".
I had a pretty good Cassoulet. My wife had a good salmon plate. Rack of lamb was quite good as well. Best of the evening was a little wild mushroom and corn tart appitizer with an arugala and fig salad.
I think this place compares very favorably with "Le Charm" another stomping ground for us. I recommend this place highly- not necessarily for 4 star food- but for a very pleasent experience.
