When Flatiron opened, we decided to check it out, since we work very close to it. I was very dissapointed in the service, food, and most of all, the high price point.
I decided to check it out again, almost 6 months later, to see if they had ironed the wrinkles out.
My Coworker ordered the Grilled Chicken (Grilled free run chicken breast, mushroom, bacon, tomato, boursin cheese, seasonal vegetables, baby potatoes) for $21.00.
Being a very cold, wet and windy day, I wanted something substantial, so ordered the Shortrib Pasta (Tender pieces of braised bison shortrib, arugula, bacon, fresh cream, asiago cheese), for $18.00
The chicken was cooked perfectly, and looked amazing.....it was gone in a few minutes, so I guess it also tasted amazing.
The pasta was also presented quite nicely, and the first few bites were very good and satisfying. It could have been saucier, but all in all, it was pretty good. The shortrib pieces were very tender and tasty.....but the sauce lacked seasoning, so didnt have the punch I wanted.
The service has improved immensely, no complaints at all on that front. They still have the $15.00 Grilled Cheese though......I think the prices need to be looked at. These prices were too high for what we got...knock off $4.00 from each, and I would be happy.
I dont know that I will go back, but Im not dissapointed that I gave it a second chance.
Now, on to Thai Boat for the weekly buffet!!!!!
