Carl's Steaks

Finally made it to the newest addition of the very lacking cheesesteak world in the city, and was very impressed.

I went in with low expectations, as everything to date has fallen miles short of the legendary Pats, but was quickly turned around when I saw cheese wiz on the menu. I ordered the cheesesteak with grilled onions, cheese wiz, and hot peppers. After adding the proper vinegary hot sauce I picked it up and as the grease and cheese began to coat my hands I knew it was going to be great. And great it was, great to the last drop. It was an excellent combination of finely chopped beef, small diced onions and cheese, aaah the beauty of simplicity. My only complaint is that the bun should be a tad bit more substantial as it was beginning to fall apart on me halfway through. This is a tough request because too much bread distracts from the combination of ingredients, but just a tad more substance to hold it all together. If it wasn't for dinner reservations in a few hours I think I would have had at least one more.

Phili just got a whole lot closer!

Has anyone else been here yet? It's at 35th and 3rd.
