The Canal Street streetcar line opened yesterday. It was the first time a streetcar has run that route since 1940!
This means one of my favorite restaurants in New Orleans, Mandina's, is now easily accesible by all FQ tourists without cars. While I think Mandina's does just fine with locals, it's nice to think visitors to the city can now get there easily.
It's hard for me to remember other great restaurants that will now be easily accessed. Maybe we can make a list?
Is Brocato now on the line, where Canal meets Carrolton? What about Venezia? I suppose even Ralph's on the Park because the streetcar goes all the way to the N.O. Museum of art. Oh, the possibilities.
