Camille's in Key West, not so good for dinner

Jennifer in Delray Beach | Aug 24, 2003 12:35 AM

On a whim we decided to go down to Key West on Tuesday and Wenesday. I know I should have checked on this board where to eat before we left but there wasn't a lot of time.

Tuesday night we ate at a restaurant the hotel recommended, Camille's on Simonton Street. We looked at Zagat before we left the hotel and it wasn't what we expected. It was more expensive and more formal than we were looking for but we were there. I ordered an oriental vegetarian dish featuring tofu and portabella mushrooms that was supposed to be over rice. Very salty, too much sauce, very little rice (maybe there was a shortage?) My friend got the mahi mahi which came with a conch sauce that tasted like canned clams. Too overpowering. The bread basket was lackluster. We wished we'd gone elsewhere.
