Cambria trip report (longish)

Thanks to the previous posters who guided our choices.

We had a good dinner at the Sow's Ear. I had pork loin with Olallieberry chutney. It was moist and nicely carmelized on the outside. S.O. had a small order of ribs which he gave 8 out of 10. We were served a small organic salad to start with - quite good. And there was freshly-baked, warm bread. Service was excellent.

Had lunch at Indigo Moon. I had eggplant with red bells and smoked mozz on foccacia. S.O. had smoked salmon on wheat. We had a decent pinot grigio to go with. This is a little place, not fancy. We liked it so much that we got more sandwiches to go that we took for a picnic lunch while winetasting. S.O. tried the duck comfit sandwich and loved it. Offers wine tasting also.

Dinner at Black Cat Cafe. We had stuffed portabellos to start with (small plate). It came with 2 and was stuffed with mascapone cheese with asagio. Rich and terrific. I had Ahi - good. S.O. had duck with lavender infusion - which was creative and not overwelming. They make a delicious Kir Royale. Next time we'll just stick to 2 small plates and maybe salad. (Too much food.)
