A burger, a pizza and a bowl of chicken soup...

My favorite burger around is at the Hill (Cambridge St, Beacon Hill, right by MGH)- they use Savenors meat (once when I posted on their burger someone complained that the meat was too dry- I say au contraire). The burger is grilled to perfection- with a nice crusty crust and they cook meat to your specs. They will do a very rare burger. The meat is sweet and lovely- my favorite toppings are blue cheese- and yes, they use real crumbly blue cheese NOT dressing as far too many do in this area- and bacon- their bacon is probably Savenors as well- it is quite smoky and flavourful. They serve w/ a big slice of red onion, lettuce and tomato and comes w/ either fries (mixed sweet and reg) or a balsamic vinegared little mesclun mix salad w/thin slices of red pepper in - all for $6.99.; Also, in Beacon Hill, though at other end of Charles St- the other day we had the best pizza take-away at the Upper Crust. The 3 cheese- which is asiago, mozarella and plenty of soft luscious ricotta, w/ garlic and chopped tomatoes on (when you order the 3 cheese it come w/ the garlic and tomatoes) - it is truly stupendious!!! The thin crust is chewy and the toppings are the perfect amounts of and the combination of flavours in ones mouth and the mouth feel- chew- and the smell of the garlic wafting up- this is a superb pizza- new house favorite (obsession?) I am sure that getting their clam or shrimp pizza which is this pie w/ clam or shrimp on (or both) is fantastic as well.; Lastly, the S&S (Inman Sq, Cambridge, with parking) has excellent Jewish Grandmother-style chicken soup. Excellent if you feel a cold coming on or already have or simply want a soothing bowl to savor. The broth is wonderful- salted just enough, very chickeney and rich w/ lots of carrot slices in, rice, and many chunks of chicken. It is a loverly warming brew indeed!...
