Buddha Ruska (SEA)

I finally was able to get to dinner here last night. It was very good. The atmosphere was cozy and just dim enough. They had the heat cranked a bit high, but after the heater turned off the temperature improved. Good, friendly service, if a bit fast for our taste. We like to hang out and talk. But they weren't pushy.

I had beef curry which was so silky smooth I wanted to drink the broth from the bowl. The meat was chunked, but was entirely free from gristle or fat and melted in my mouth. My house salad was fresh with a smooth, creamy peanut dressing. It was large and satisfying, but not enough to fill me up before our food came (too fast - we weren't done with our appetizers yet). A couple others at our table had the Tom Kah soup, which was good and complex. Rather large "cup"! The soup did fill them up quickly.

The veggies in the veggie dish were cooked quickly and were lightly, very nicely lightly, covered in sauce (esp. the seafood selection). All seafood was prepared wonderfully. The steak dish was very good, cut wafer thin and served with a spicy pepper sauce. The only thing we didn't clamour over (although the person ordering it swears by it) was the crispy chicken. I thought was a bit too heavy for my taste. Then again, I don't usually order any thing fried for the most part. The spicing was done well, as two of our party avoid any spice at all and two of us love it. All of us were happy with our choices. We will go back and try more for sure. I'm dying to try a noodle dish and more curry. I'll probably lick my plate if someone doesn't stop me...
