I had a great meal here!

Quick recap. I had a ceasar like salad with a Spanish cheese. It was good the cheese was like Asiago. The salad was a good combination of tart, garlic and creamy and not over or under dressed.

My friend had the beet salad. I was lovely to look at with different coloured vegetables which all turned out to be beets. He gave me a taste, it was wonderful. Slightly sweet like they were glazed with honey. I dont even really like beets!

I had pheasant for the main. It was in a rich good poultry gravy. I can't remeber what liquor/wine was in the gravy maybe madiera. It came with mashed potatoes that were quite buttery. The whole dish may have been a bit too rich but its hard to complain about it when everything tastes so good. The pheasant was perfectly cooked and tender. Maybe only the tinyest bit dry but still very good.

I also tried some of the venison main. It was spectacular. It's flavour was like beef (I haven't had it recently before this) but the texture was like the best beef tenderloin. It was cooked rare and just melted in your mouth. It was in a red wine (not sure) sauce.

We had creme brulee for dessert which was text book perfect and sweet. I felt like I had a sugar rush after eating the whole little ramekin full.

Also the portions were all a good size and I felt a little too full at the end of the meal.

Now I'm trying to think of a good excuse or celebration so I can go back to Bruyea and Bros, right away!
