Brunch on Saturday? SF or Berkeley/Oakland

Yvonne | Nov 6, 2002 07:36 PM

I'm driving up to the Bay Area this weekend to take my best friend out to brunch on Saturday for her birthday. I'm looking for a nice restaurant to have brunch or lunch at. She lives in SF, and I'll be staying in Berkeley so anywhere in the SF-Berkeley-Oakland area with somewhat reasonable parking is fine. I haven't seen her in a few months and would like a quieter, calmer place so we can sit and chat for a while. We always do dim sum so that doesn't seem special enough. In Berkeley, I'm not interested in Bette's, Venus, La Note, or Rick and Anne's because I've been there, done that and the atmosphere is too hurried at any of those places. I've looked through some older posts, control+F the board, and did a Google advanced search and didn't come up with much. I would've liked Chez Spencer or Desiree Cafe but they're closed on Saturdays for lunch. Flower Market Cafe looks good right now but any other ideas out there?

Thanks for any and all help!
Yvonne
