This may sound a little strange, but some friends and I are planning to walk the whole length of Broadway on a spring Saturday - all 13 miles of it - and we will definitely need sustenance along the way. What places are great stops both for snacks to keep us going (specialty/artisinal shops) and what would be a good place to break for brunch/lunch (sit down/take out restaurant) that are either on Broadway, or no more than a block off Broadway?
Our plan isn't perfected yet, but we'll probably leave from the southern end of the island in the morning, walk a couple of hours (the whole stroll should take about 5 hours) then have a meal. I'd guess we'd be a bit past half-way - in the high 90s, low 100s - before we wanted to stop and sit down to eat. Of course, if any place warranted special treatment, we could walk a little further, or break a little earlier...
well chowhounds? what do you think?
