Finally managed to follow up on a rec from this board from a while back, and stopped in to the Boston Tea Stop in Harvard Square.
Ordered up my standard yardstick (taro milk tea w/boba).
The verdict: tasty, and very nice! The boba was just right (tender but still a bit chewy-- not dissolving and gluey, or or hard and rubbery, like most of the others I've had in Boston)
The taro milk was clearly made from powder (not nearly as nice as the fresh ones, but what can you do), but at least it was pre-mixed--not mixed on order, which seems to yield more variable results. This place might even stand up to the competition in some neighborhoods of LA.
Their location is terrible, visibility-wise (in a strange upstairs location tucked away out of the square) But luckily, it's a block from my house!
