Boboquivari's

My landlady had a rude surprise for me yesterday. Without any advance notice, she decided to repaint all the hallways. Paint fumes make me physically ill.

I decided to go to a motel. I started walking down Van Ness. The 1st 4 I tried had no vacancies. I wound up at the Travelodge on Lombard, right next to Boboquivari.

I popped in [this was around 10:30pm] and asked if they were still serving? Yes! I sat at the bar and was served by the bartender. She was wonderful!

I decided on the petit mignon. The menu states the standard preparation is medium rare. I said I'd like it a little more done than that.

She asked if I would like a side and that they are an additional charge. I said well most of them seem to have one ingredient I don't like. She said I can have them leave that off and serve the lemon on the side.

So I had a wonderful wilted spinach side in olive oil.

She didn't have a drop of attitude and sincerely just wanted me to have a nice dining experience.

My meal [including a Tanqueray G&T and tip] came to $42.
