Bobby's Cajun BBQ

Pocket | Mar 24, 2004 03:15 PM

I live in Richmond right near the old Bobby's Backdoor Cajun BBQ. In June 2002 they changed management and the quality immediately took a dramatic nose dive - leathery brisket (think of the children!), watery sauce, fatty ribs, dry chicken. Unfortuantely for me I used them to cater my birthday party the same week. Very embarrasing. And then they changed hands once again (still terrible) before closing.

I recently learned that Bobby reopened near Hilltop and had to try it. WOW! It's just as I remembered it! Especially the brisket. It just melts in your mouth and the sauce is delicious. Spicy and tangy and not too tomato-ey. We had a two-way with ribs and beef brisket and both were terrific. The potato salad was also good.
