Blue Smoke dinner review

Went back to Blue Smoke with my wife and another couple last night. We stuck to the friend Mike and I had the rib sampler (St. Louis and Kansas City spareribs and Texas style beef rib) and we ordered the Fry Bread (w/chipotle butter), and extra serving of the chipotle butter (YUM!) and Mac and cheese. Everything I had was fantastic except for the St. Louis ribs and the cole slaw. A BBQ joint, in my opinion, should have fantastic slaw. It was average at best. Perhaps they should get the recipe from the Mayrose Diner (my favorite). The St. Louis ribs were not worth ever getting again (not horrible, just not to my taste). The winner was the Kansas City ribs. Best of the lot, but the simply stated salt and pepper Texas beef ribs were very good as well. I added some sauce to mine, but that's just me. Service was good, atmosphere was lively but not loud, Maitre d was extraordinarily pleasant and the bill was very reasonable. Also in attendance, wearing jeans and a white t-shirt(!) was James Carville. He sat 2 tables away with his daughter (we surmise). I'd be interested to know what the southern guy thought of Yankee(sort of) BBQ ... but I can say that it, again, will see me make another return trip.
