Best Bloody Marys in New Orleans- A Last Second Request

Robert | May 21, 2002 09:00 AM

First, I'm sorry I forgot this. My brother is meeting us in New Orleans this Wed noon, to stay til Friday. He loves bloody marys. Any recommendations in the Quarters or along the St. Charles street car route?

Second, based on the info from this board, I had a wonderful meal at Dragos on the way in to Louisiana. The grilled oysters were outstanding (though I still prefer the raws). My lovely new daughter-in-law enjoyed both, and had never before had oysters of any type (what do they eat in Northern Ohio?). I plan to take my brother there on our way out of New Oreleans Friday.

Also, I had stopped in Opelousas at Rays for boudin for years, whenever we were in Louisiana. You guys just converted me to Best Stop. We plan to get some more to eat in the car on our way out of Lafayette.

I have been enjoying the oyster po boys at Old Tyme Grocery in Layfayette.

Again, as in the past, thanks very much for the recommendations. I enjoy reading them even when I am not headed for Louisiana.
