I just spent a weekend on Block Island (yes, I know out of season, nobody goes there in winter, but we had reasons.)
The one meal I ate out (few places open anyway) was at the diner in the airport terminal. I have to say that I was quite impressed with breakfast (though maybe it was the setting setting low expectations).
They served decent coffee, and I had a single plate-sized pancake which was way more than I could eat but very good.
My dining companion got an omelette with mushrooms, spinach and cheese (the popeye omelette.) His omelette looked like 3 eggs, fluffy. The spinach was actually fresh baby spinach! The mushrooms might've been canned, quite incongruous, but the whole thing good. He got himself a side of corned beef hash, which while it was the same canned stuff as everywhere it was cooked very well done, which is hard to come by in most diners.
While we were waiting for a flight, a gentleman actually landed his plane and came in to the terminal, telling the attendant that he was just there for breakfast! Anyway, whenever I next find myself on Block Island, I plan to head to the airport for breakfast out.
