I have a friend who is coming to manhattan tomorrow late afternoon and he will no doubt be looking for someplace close to his hotel (the Carlton) where he can get some good food and relax while he prepares for a week of sightseeing and shopping.
I think something he can't find at home like a good bistro or tapas (moderately priced) would be something he would really enjoy, and be an education. He is just starting to discover his "houndness" and I am hoping this trip will get him to the next level. He also loves Thai.
Finally, (I know this is long, but he is a special friend) he hasn't had time to prepare for his trip because he had to bury his uncle and see his dad through cancer surgery this past week! The only reason he is going through with the trip is because his parents want him to and he already had to cancel a food tour of europe due to his work load. This guy needs a break.
