Bimi in West LA

I ate at Bimi, a japanese restaurant in West LA (Wilshire and Armacost) last night with my boyfriend, and we were very impressed! Apparently, the place has been open for a month but only recently hung up signage.

Walking into the restaurant was like being transported back to Japan. I had been yearning to go back for a while now, and being at the restaurant made me want to return to Japan even more. It has a contemporary, minimalist feel but very "Japanese" at the same time.

We ordered a bunch of stuff: seafood tacos, udon, filet mignon, a variety of sushi and hand rolls, and even dessert. Everything was fresh and flavorful. I especially liked the seafood tacos.

My boyfriend and I already know that we will be frequent visitors since we live within walking distance. And I have to say, even living so close to Sawtelle and all of its Japanese restaurants, Bimi definitely gives them a run for their money. (The only place that I feel is comparable in taste is Orris.)

Does anyone have their own thoughts of this place?
