Since your here for the real opinions, I'm adding mine. I dont usually post to express dissapointment, or at least I dont start threads, I have to do so now in good concience. I am reposting what I wrote at citysearch because I dont think they post bad reviews honestly. Im adding some detail here above the first post on CS.
NOT EVEN CLOSE
MarkJoseph has a long way to go. The appetizers were awful. Over dressed cesar with soggy bottom crutons, avg. shrimp cocktail, and dried out tomato and onion. The tomato was shrivled and the onion looked like it had been left out on the dock most of the day. This has to get better, right? drinks were fine.
After chatting a bit, my mouth was watering for some nice med rare porterhouse for two. I was ready for the goods. The sizzling plate arrived. The food was thrown at me and I scooped up some creamed spinach- ready to go now, time to eat. I was recovering from the rushed "lets get the meat off this hot plate as fast as we can" service and the steak was COLD. Yes, cold. Lame excuse A#1 from the waiter. "We serve the steak that way." Whatever. #2- "our med rare is close to rare so its not cooked as long." No dice my friend. Med rare, rare, cook it means heat it, right? Not here I suppose. You meant to say you nuke it mr. waiter? I sent the steak back with my 1/2 eated slice returned to the serving plate. It came back a few minutes later- gone... I ate the steak, because I was hungry, after an imposter came back from reheating in the oven. They switched on us. Dessert- fine.
Overall, I will not go back and clearly I dont reccomend it. It was a less than inspiring expierence. These guys came from Lugers? You mean fired from there? MarkJoseph is a 3rd rate chop shop. If you want the Rolls Royce stick with Ben Bensons, Lugers, or Post House. If you want the Edsel- MarkJoseph will do- barely.
