A Big, Expensive, Disappointment - Savoy Grill, KC

I was in KC for a meeting this past weekend and went with a group to the Savoy Grill for dinner on Friday night. Ten people; $70 per person; very unsatisfying.

Although we were given a private room and had very attentive service, nothing about the meal itself warranted the prices this place charges. An unimaginative presentation of a poorly cooked piece of tuna accompanied by two unadorned new potatoes is less than inspiring. The tepid glass of second rate Pinot Noir didn't help.

Apparently, Kansas Citians are similarly underwhelmed, as the dining room was just as empty when we left as when we arrived at 8.

It's a shame to see a landmark such as this produce such mediocrity. I'd be curious to hear if others have had similar experiences.
