Berries!! (betw. Portland and Corvallis)

Had to go to Corvallis to deliver a workshop and on the way down, partner and I stopped for berries. We were staying with friends and wanted to bring something with us to give them.

We stopped at a berry farm off of I-5. It has huge organge signs with blue lettering that are visible going south on I-5 from Portland. I think it is Empire Berry Farms, but I am not sure.

They had: several types of blackberries (including a "monster" variety that ware the size of small plums!), blueberries, loganberries, marionberries, red raspberries, and black raspberries. You can taste and then buy what you want from a 1/2 pint to a flat.

After tasting all of the berries (and I do love them all, but I was rooting for the local marionberry) it was clear that the loganberries were the winners that day. Their flavor was bright with a perfumey kind of finish. Just great. Got a half flat ($6, I think, half pints were $2 each) and spread the joy around our Corvallis friends.

Anyone have any sources near or in Portland that have great berries at great prices??
