BBQ Unlimited #2 on melrose ave
yes, off the street it looks like a trashcan,
inside it looks like a authentic chinese location
visual clean-liness 4/10
-->inspired in me: cheapness, nasty
but then wait, check out their prices!
got me a lunch
chow mein house special (need the noddle fix)
the beef was good, a bit thin but, soft, tender, tasty, had some bbq'd garlic kinda taste + some sort of a sauce. good. size: eh, not enough, price: expensive for the size: ~9$
the chow mein: oh my god, what the hell is this? first
- the smell was like the vapors coming out of a sink full of dirty dishes,
- there was a thick pile of soft noodles, mushy noodles, stuck together, in a mush. the margins of the noodles were DRY (not just-fried dry, but OLD dried-up)
- on top of that was a pile of meats: ~1 piece of: fish, pork, chicken, squid? , clam? and 2 small dead shrimps without shell.
- taste: well, the smell just like threw me off my chair, and uhm, well i tried to eat some of the dish: got some noodles but they had no taste, and were soggy, tried the pork, eh, i guess it was bbqd? but not much taste there,... the fish, thin, tasted like fish, had a bit of the chicken,
ate the 2 shrimp, and then threw it away,
that was just an awful dish, no taste, bad noodle, horrible smell.
price: ~7$, i thought i was gettin a bargain for the size, but the thing was gross.
here's a picture of the thing: img526.imageshack.us/img526/6053/img49142av.jpg
i dont know,
its expensive, looks unclean, ... i dont think i'll try again.
