Bazaar, Baza, and great Russian values

I know we've written about the Russian grocery stores that we're fortunate to have but a recent stop reminded me how valuable they are. Great frozen sour cherries in syrup for baking, excellent feta at 3.69 a pound, fresh dill for .99 cents a bunch, dry smoked pork and lovely streaky pork for cooking, both of an excellent quality, and sour cream and butter that is far better and much cheaper than the fancy brands at WF. Add to that a quart of very decent mushroom soup (not great but very good) for 3.99 a quart and the excellent Eastern European style fresh breads that both Bazaar on Cambridge street in Brighton and Baza in Newton are carrying, and the pickles, and you can eat very well and very cheaply by adding these great stops to your shopping list. Lucky us to have so many good ethnic shopping options.
