Does anyone in the Bay Area (or a similar climate) have a tangerine tree?

At party during the holidays, I met someone who'd brought a big bowl of homegrown tangerines. She'd just moved into a house in Oakland with a large, established tree. Unfortunately, she didn't know anything about it. I have a few citrus trees (lemons and limes) in pots, but I always assumed tangerines require more heat than my Berkeley garden can provide. Is anyone around here or in a similar climate growing tangerines? I'd love any growing tips and especially any thoughts about which varieties are the tastiest. Also any info from people growing other kinds of citrus. Thanks.
