We had a great meal at Bartolotta in the Wynn on Sunday night. Despite it being Sunday, the restaurant was mostly full. The service was very helpful, but they disappeared for periods of time. It took a while to get anyone to come by and give us menus, water or take a drink order when we were first seated. However, the waiter was very knowledgeable.
We had a mix of starter -- some pasta, some salads -- and everything was tasty. For entree, we ordered a whole fish, Orata imported from Italy, split 5 ways. It was a huge fish served oven-roasted and cooked PERFECTLY. I was impressed that they were able to cook such a large fish and keep it moist while cooking it until it was just done in the center.
The waiter removed the skin, boned the fish, and split it tableside. That's probably what caused the gap in service when we sat down -- serving a whole fish for another table. We also order one grilled langoustine for each person. Nice.
The dinner was expensive with the single fish alone being around $300. Overall, the food and experience was excellent.
