Any information on this burg? I was doing a little searching using MS Streets & Trips and screwed up a cut-and-paste. I was mapping locations for Troutman's Barbecue in Concord and wound up inputting "Barbecue, NC" instead of Concord and much to my surprise, up pops Barbecue, NC 27505.
Contrary to popular opinion that barbecue is found all over the state with Eastern-style and Western-style as well as variations, Barbecue evidently has a specific location in the State of North Carolina, ie, ~20 mis N of Fayetteville, ~15 mis SE of Sanford and ~13 mis WSW of Lillington along SR 27 (35.335N/79.040W).
It stands to reason, therefore, that there must be a "Mid-state-style" of cue as well. And perhaps the Eastern and Western styles emanated from this heretofore unknown style. (How's that for a carto-BarBQ-graphical deduction?)
Curiosity piqued, a search of possible eateries using Verizon returned a "The city "Barbecue" could not be found" message. Zilch.
So, anybody know the story on this place? How it got its name? Why it got its name? A quick Google didn't reveal much.
Inquiring minds want to know.
BTW, anyone know anything about Troutman's in Concord?
