Having just eaten at Bandera in West LA last night I am willing to say that their BBQ beef ribs should be considered when you have a yen for Q, but want a more upscale venue for some reason, (like a date where you are trying to make a semi-slick impression on that person you want for a SO).
Since they have a wood burning fire going, and the ribs have such a nice char to them, I assume that they do them on their conveyor belt of roasting meats? The fries are also very good, especially the ones that have been sitting down next to the ribs soaking up the beef and bbq mixture that you get to uncover at the end of the process.
Both of us had a bloody mary last night, with the 4 stuffed olives on a skewer. Next time I am going to see if I can just get 4 of them stuffed with the blue cheese, that was a tasty and tangy combo for sure.
Bandera is on the South West corner of Barrington and Wilshire in West LA across from Pollo Inka/Asakuma, et al.
