Some time back, I saw part of a PBS show where they made a banana cream pie, not in the usual pastry cream plus bananas way, but with whole liquified bananas that were the actual base of the pastry cream!
I can't remember any more details beyond that, though. If it was overripe bananas or if they microwaved them or how the custard was made...
My google-fu is failing me and I am really wanting to make this pie.
Does this ring a bell with anyone?
