Boy, how many chances do you have to give a place before you throw in the towel? I went with Family last night for a birthday dinner and we were all soundly disappointed, yet again.
In theory it should work. Nice dining room, College Avenue crowd, Full bar, but something is woefully wrong. I would love to offer the owner some pro-active and very basic feedback.
We were immediately surprised when seated to see paper napkins and silverware that seemingly did not look clean. When our drinks were served, they brought the soda and coke out in a can - even though that very well stocked bar had no one sitting there yet. How hard would it have been to pour the drinks there and bring them over? We had a really basic and not at all notewothy Caesar salad that had obvious packaged croutons and Parmesan cheese that was packaged as well.
Dinner arrived and I had 3 very thin slives of a bland and unseasoned hanger Steak. My Partner had a pizza that was not at all crisp and almost unedible from an excess of chili pepper flakes.
The service is beyond amateur as well. A gaggle of waitresses were clustered together as it was early, chewing gum and laughing in and speaking Spanish quite loudly, obviously unaware of how unprofessional they looked.
I have to say it was a profoundly disappointing night. I think the only time we'll ever go back is for weekend Brunch. After all, who can mess up eggs and bacon?
Too bad - so sad:(
