I had started going to Azucar when it was in Edgewater, NJ. Oh, and before you couldn't enjoy a fine cigar with your meal. It was bring your own bottle and feel free to have a cigar.
All of that aside, my reason for posting here today is that I am living much farther away and going in to withdrawal for their Yuca Frita Cubana. They refer to them as "Golden cassava fries served with our
famous culantro dip". All I know is they are amazing and something you can really get addicted to.
Now, on to my reason... does anyone have a recipe for these delicious pieces of cuban crack?! lol I have tried a few ideas but each seems to fall short of the real deal.
What I don't think their description really points out is that I believe the dip is a yougurt/sour cream-based garlic/cilantro mixture. Not entirely unlike a tzsaziki.
Oh, if you have never been to Azucar - It's a recommended stop in Jersey City.
