So I accidentally discovered this little Korean restaurant in the outskirts of Fort Lauderdale. It's called Manna and is located on N. University Drive in Lauderhill.
My fiancee and I are both Korean and ever since we moved from Manhattan to Fort Myers, Korean restaurants are one thing we miss. Let's just say there's no good Korean in Fort Myers, period.
We drive to Fort Lauderdale once a month to go to the big Asian market there and one day we saw this place called Manna and decided to go there for lunch. It's a family run place and the food is amazing! Everything is so fresh and there is absolutely no MSG in any of their food. If you're used to Korean that has a lot of MSG in it, you might come away not liking the food since you'll think the food has no taste. This is the first Korean restaurant where I didn't have to drink a gallon of water later on.
Anyways, the wife makes all the banchan (side dishes), and the husband cooks the entrees. The banchan is super fresh and tasty. I personally love their kim chee but some might think it doesn't have enough flavor.
The 2 times I've been there I've had hameul pajun (seafood pancake), mandoo (fried dumplings), galbi (beef ribs), soondubae jighae (tofu stew), a grilled fish dish which I can't remember the Korean name, and doenjang jjigae (bean paste stew). They will even make Korean dishes upon request if it's not on the menu if they have the ingredients in stock. I also requested Ddukbokki (spicey rice cake) since it was not on the menu and it was sooooo good. Every dish I just listed is amazing. I've yet to have a dish or banchan that I have not liked. Their food reminds me of my friend's mom's cooking. Light, fresh, and refreshing.
The wife and daughter are very nice and helpful. I highly recommend this place and hope the business does well.
