My husband and I used to live in Madison park/Kirkland when we met, and are now live in Austin TX. We are visiting Seattle for a week to attend a wedding and will have our three year old daughter with us. Where are some of the newer places with great food? We are staying in Capitol hill/downtown and have a car so don't mind driving but would need restaurants that accept reservations, and would be ok with a toddler at the 5am seating. Six years ago when we lived in Seattle our favorites were cafe Juanita, lark, Cafe campagne, and brasa. These places are now either closed or too fancy for my toddler (she would be ok at a louder place like ettas or Lola, rays cafe, etc). I called cascina spinasse but since they have no high chairs I assume they would not be thrilled to see us. I am also looking at serious pie. We are already doing alot of Chinatown ethnic stuff for the wedding, (din tai fung, hoho) so I am trying to avoid that the rest of the week. We also will be taking some visitors around Seattle with us, so I need a place with good seafood also. Any suggestions would be really appreciated!
