I ordered the "roasted" chicken and dressing special last night at Hoover's. It was downright awful.
It consisted of a "roasted" skinless and boneless chicken breast (it tasted like it was sun-dried). It was the toughest and driest breast I've ever put in my mouth.
The breast was sitting atop cornbread dressing that tasted like old birthday cake soaked in dishwater.
To top it off, the breast and dressing were smothered in cream gravy--but not the regular cream gravy they serve on chicken fried steak--it was funky white cream gravy with coarsely chopped hard-boiled egg.
It was bad, folks. The moral of the story is: Don't venture too far off the menu at Hoover's--stick with what's chicken fried.
