For those of you who enjoyed Attilio's Kitchen in Denville, the former owner has now opened a lovely restaurant on Route 46 in Dover. They've been open three weeks. The room is lovely, with a small bar area, a large and beautifully appointed dining room, and a small raised stage with a piano. Soft lighting, warm ambience. Casual, but a cut above.
The menu is Italian with some steak and seafood specialties as well. We had a delicious complimentary appetizer of fresh mozzarella, freshly roasted peppers and some herbs. My wife had a fantastic salmon dish with capers and white wine over risotto.
Service was attentive, with hot bread replenished speedily, water glasses filled immediately, and a generally cheerful and helpful attitude by the staff.
The 10" pizzas are wonderful: Great, flavorful thin crust, premium quality ingredients. My daughter's eggplant rollatini was equally well-prepared. My escarole salad was crisp and fresh, with a nice house dressing, sun-dried tomatoes, sharp provolone and roasted peppers.
I highly recommend Attilio's.
