...absolutely tremendous! We finally made it last night. Great atmosphere, a nice mix of people, and very friendly, efficient waitstaff and bartenders. We ordered a few items:
The pressed cuban sandwich was about as good as they get, with fresh pork loin, ham, cheese, and pickles on a very tasty bread.
The portobello burger was even better than the cuban sandwich. Three thick mushrooms in a tasty bun. Yum!
The macaroni and cheese and french fries were excellent side dishes, with the mac and cheese being light and airy, and the fries being hand cut with just the right amount of salt.
The mashed squash with bourbon (a special last night) was another great side dish. I just wish they had it every night.
The beer selection was excellent, with everything from guinness to wanderlust cream ale to Sierra Nevada IPA.
I think I'll be spending a lot more time at the Ashmont. I only wish I could buy one of those huge Victorians on Ashmont Hill so I could walk to the restaurant every night!
