The arrogance of the owner at Local Kitchen and Wine Bar Queen West

I have eaten at Local Kitchen and Wine Bar Several times. Tonight was busy. Over all we have found the food to be good although perhaps a tad expensive for a restaurant that does not take reservations and has a bistro type atmosphere. For one of our tapas dishes we ordered a pasta special that was Tortillini with butternut squash goat cheese and apples. It was $19 for 3 small pieces. We mentioned this to the waiter/owner who told us(in a snotty tone) it was made with all kinds of love and that if we didn't want it ...fine. He took the plate and stomped off. Outrageous. A couple beside us ordered this dish as well and said the same thing. Good but extremely over priced for the portion size. That was the end of our dinner experience. We were not offerd coffee or dessert just the full $135.00 bill. We were totally ignored. They are trendy right now and it has made them cocky.
We ate at Cowbell(a block away) last weekend where the food was amazing, portions were appropriate and the services was what one would expect when paying $150 for dinner for 2 people. By the way we had coffee and dessert. Cowbell was moderately busy and they take reservations.
It is a shame when a place has "the buzz" and customer service flys out the window....from the owner ...no less. You may want to think twice before heading out to Local. I won't be back.
