Restaurants & Bars 2

New to Arlington

Hi! I just moved to Arlington from Los Angeles. I like it here so far but I find the food so unfamiliar. I'm desperate for a great Mexican restaurant, like the food that I grew up with.

First-I have tried some of the local chain Mexican restaurants and they just don't work for me. I don't like Tex Mex so much- I prefer a good mole, taco or tamale, food without cream cheese or the cheese sauces some of the restaurants here seem to use. I would like a place where fajitas are not likely to be found on the menu, but rather may have menudo instead. The restaurant you send me to doesn't require that the staff speak English- I speak enough Spanish to be able to order if someone can recommend a good restaurant that caters more to Mexican than Texan tastebuds. I just miss the tamales in east LA, the beans without the taste of bacon, the tacos that are not over-cheesed, the posole. Sigh. My taste buds are just not used to the Mexican food here. There must be a place for me. Please help?

Second- there must be some great pho places around. I see lots of places around the university. Any recs?

Third- are there any korean bbq places around here?

I have so many more questions, but I'll stop here. I would appreciate any help. Thank you in advance.
