One more AOC Review

Went to AOC Friday night with the girlfriend, and had a fantastic time. It really is an integrative experience; it's not just about chowing down on good food. Onto the nitty gritty:

Our server was knowledgable and had *very* good suggestions. We went with his suggestions for the majority of our choices and were very very pleased. A random word to the wise: Don't forget to bring ID to this wine bar. :P

Stuff Ordered:
Dates 'n Bacon - Wow. What a dish. Fantastic.
3 Cheese plate
-Cabra al Romero Goat cheese: Great taste, with rosemary and olive oil, I believe.
-Cociotta Tartufo - Cow/Sheep cheese: Pretty good, but nothing in comparison to:
-Crozier Blue cheese. Best cheese I've ever tried, and I'm not that big of a blue cheese fan.
Braised Duck w/ Pomegranate + Wild Rice: Duck was fantastic, texture of rice+pomegranate was fantastic, flavors were great.
Hawaiian Ceviche w/ Avocado - Fairly good. Fish was somewhat overpowered, though it was overpowered with good tasting things.
Brussel Sprouts - *great*
Chicken Liver crostini - very good, they kind of go by very quickly since there are only two of them.

Desserts:
Pain Perdu (French Toast) dessert: One of the pieces was burnt, but ignoring that, the rest of it was very good
Panna cotta custardy thing: Also very good.

Wine: Flight of Syrah (3 small glasses of 3 Syrahs) - Really added to the meal. I'd highly recommend the flights, as you get to see how three different wines interact with 6-8 different foods. Very neat experience.

That's all I've got. Not flawless, but one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. A+ gold star. :)
