AOC report

Last night 12 of us, all who had never been, were seated upstairs in the heated outdoor covered area. The meal-food, service and setting- was wonderful. We took advice from our server while also asking for specific dishes that our party was interested in. We decided to split the evening into three parts: 1) charcuterie/cheese/salad, 2) meats/ocean/from the oven and 3)sweets. We had:

assorted cheese plate with figs and fresh walnuts
coppa, sopressata and cacciatorini charcuterie plate
baked dates wrapped in bacon and filled with parmesan cheese
goat cheese, dried figs and saba (reduction of grape must--kind of like balsamic, but better) served over endive
chopped salad dijonnaise
green salad with persimmons and prosiutto

rice with squid and ink with a saffron aioli
black cod, celery root, sunchokes and hazelnuts
clams cooked in a sherry broth, served with garlic toast
grilled skirt steak with balsamic reduction
veal saltimboca with madeira brown butter
grilled quail with mushroom sauce and foie gras
potatoes and apples with duck fat

pain perdu with ice cream
panna cotta
cheescake with figs
darck chocolate served with candied pumpkin

We had 3 of everything, that way everyone could taste just a little bit of it all. My favorites were the bacon wrapped dates, the squid and rice with aioli and the black cod. Other favorites around the table included the skirt steak, clams, and the potatoes and apples w duck fat.

The space is elegant and modern but also comfortable. The staff does a great job of helping you with selection as well as with the pacing of the food, with the meal taking about 3 hours total. We paired the food with a few bottles of champagne to start and then moved on to a few bottles of a napa valley cab that was on the lighter side. Finished the night with coffee.

Total, with tip, $1300.00

Hands down one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. Thanks for the recommendations.
