I have a recipe that I want to make tonight for a dinner party and I just realized that it calls for a Dutch oven, which I don't have. I'm not going to run out today and purchase one, so is there something I can use as an alternative? Do I need to adjust the recipe in any way?
The dish is a Zucchini/Squash Gratin. I'm supposed to combine the zucchini, squash, leek, broth, salt, pepper and garlic in a Dutch oven, cover and cook over medium high heatfor 20 minutes until the squash is very tender, stirring occasionally. Then remove from heat and mix it together with all the other ingredients and bake.
Would love to have input on an alternative!
