Alonso's Pounder

The Other Antonius | Aug 2, 2005 03:43 PM

Finally tried the Alonso one pound burger -- I must say, I'm glad that I didn't go for the 1 1/2 pounder. On the plus side, the burger was juicy and cooked almost precisely to the medium-well request. Unfortunately, this was greatly overshadowed by the blandness and absence of taste found in a well prepared and properly seasoned burger.

Although I can't fully blame the cook for omitting even a pinch of spice (a quarter of a teaspoon of cayenne or even chili powder would enhance the sandwich tremendously), but I must say that the lack of noticeable salt and pepper greatly reduces the satisfaction that one must receive from eating a pound of ground meat on a bun.
