Stopped into La Mamma's yesterday for my weekly empanada fix. As usual I devoured one of the beef turnovers in about two seconds with that cilantro hot sauce but per some old posts (specifically, Science Chick's) I broke the usual habit and tried the spinach. Excellent blend of creamed spinach, well complimented by the hot sauce. I wanted to try the chacarerro but by then it was nearly 4 PM and dinner was only a couple of hours away.
Walking back to my car I passed the burrio place and saw their empanadas sitting under the heat lamp. Umm, yeah, made to order vs. heat lamp. They were empty.
Also saw the Beantown Franks place. Anyone had a hotdog from there? Comparable to Spike's or Nemo's (is that the name of the place on Cambridge St.?).
