Has anybody else dined at Alfa y Omega? It's at 40-18 108th Street in Corona. It claims to have "international food."
When my wife and I were seated, we were handed a horrific, boring menu of Italian/American workhorses. When we objected, they handed us another menu - this time a South American one.
We were then served a meal that consisted of very good Ecuadorian dishes and perfect bruschetta! That bruschetta was far more authentic than what's served in many "Tuscan" places.
It turns out the chef is from Ecuador but worked for 27 years in a Manhattan Italian restaurant. (It must have been an authentic one)
What (if anything else) have people tried there? The place is a real puzzle.
