Al Dayaa in Astoria again

Got more takeout from this new middle eastern place on 31st st again (and took it to Astoria Park to enjoy Friday's lovely evening--its about time!). All food was once again excellent. Not to slight Ali, but I think that the hummus an bab ganoush are better here then at kabab cafe. We had the vegie mixed plate with baba, hummus, amazing grapeleaves, mousaka (eggplant tomatoes and onions), and felafel. We also had stewed kofta meatballs with tomatoes and potatoes with the most amazing rice pilaf (including pine nuts, cashews, and almonds). For $18 we had food for at least 3 people (even though there were only two of us). The owner is really nice and everything is homemade. Although the ambiance is not great (just two or three tables in the back), I highly recommend this place for takeout. Oh, and they have a great not-so-hot sauce.
